Tim Borland, the Cowboy PT, has over 25 years of experience as a runner, sports trainer, and fitness fanatic. With a background in kinesiology and as a semi-professional long distance runner, Tim is incredibly passionate about empowering and educating people on their health and wellness.
From running 63 marathons in 63 days as part of the A-T Cure Tour, to the everyday rigors of running a cattle ranch, Tim has learned the best ways to care for muscle health to ensure that you can continue to pursue your passions, pain-free.
Out on the ranch, we know the value of conditioning our horses so they can perform at their best. When our horses muscles are soft and supple, they are able to reach full flexion and extension of their body, allowing them to run faster, pull stronger, and move more smoothly. We invest time and resources into conditioning our horses to be their best and minimize risk of injury.
Human biomechanics are the same: when our muscles are soft and supple, then our joints are able to fully flex and extend. When our muscles are tight they shorten, and when the muscles are short, they pull on the skeletal system, causing our body to be “out of alignment”.
The skeletal system is held together and supported by the muscular system. When the two systems are not in support of one another, we experience joint pain, back pain, and all of the “itis’s” (patella, plantar, achilles…etc.)
Trigger Point Therapy, also known as Myofascial Release Techniques, targets deep tissue, scar tissue built up from injuries and stress, and the connections between the muscular and the skeletal.
